Hobby Master's Air Power Series introduces this MIG-21MF of the former Eastern Germany Air Force, Dec. 1990. The Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-21(NATO reporting name Fishbed) is a supersonic jet fighter aircraft, designed and built by the Mikoyan-Gurevich Design Bureau in the Soviet Union. In the Vietnam war, between April 26, 1965, and January 8, 1973, USAF F-4s and B-52s downed 68 MiG-21s. More than 30 countries of the world have flown the MiG-21, some friendly to the US. Estimates are that more than 8,000 were built, more than any other modern jet aircraft. It is the second most produced post-World War II military aircraft, after the Lockheed C-130 Hercules. Its Mach 2 capability exceeds many modern fighter types such as the F/A-18 Hornet, and still serves many nations 56 years after its first flight. Other Details: - Authentic Detailing
